TAYLOR. Fredrick: Fred Taylor (Taylor Made Research) of High River, AB sadly passed away on Christmas Day 2021 at the age of 69 years. WENSTOB, Norman: Norman Wenstob (Section One Angus) passed away November 28, 2021 at the age of 74. Raised on the family farm, where he resided for more than 70 years, north of Strome, AB he devoted his life to agriculture and had a special place in his heart for raising purebred Angus cattle. BUTTIMER, George: George William Buttimer of Red Deer, Alberta, formerly of Edberg, passed away peacefully with his wife Val by his side on June 8, 2021 at the age of 59. George served as past president of the Alberta Angus Association - and Val was Alberta Secretary for many years - familiar, friendly faces at Angus events both before and after the Clonabreem Angus Dispersal in 2008. GROENEVELD, Charles: Chuck Groeneveld, of Calgary, AB, passed away on October 30, 2020 at the age of 83 years. He was a tireless advocate for the beef industry and spent many years as barn boss for events at the Calgary Stampede. Announcement HERE.

FRETZ, Murray: Murray G. Fretz passed away April 15, 2020 at the age of 88. He had a remarkable journey and long career in the livestock industry spanning over seven decades; including Secretary-Manager of the Ontario Angus Association, General Manager of the CAA and General Manager of the Aberdeen Angus Journal. PRICHARD, Gordon: Gord Prichard of Kelowna, BC passed away April 13, 2020. Born in 1923 in Camrose, AB he moved to Millarville & later BC - his life encompassed careers in dairy farming, as a realtor, and Aberdeen Angus purebred breeder for the rest of his farming life (Spruce Ridge Farms; Glenrose Ranches). Gord's Dad Sam was one of the first breeders of Angus in Alberta in 1916. Gord was perhaps best known for his astute purchase & use of "Canadian Revolution" Harrogate Revolution 2nd - 321664-. COPELAND, Joseph "Glenn": Glenn passed away peacefully at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood, ON, on Friday, February 28, 2020 at the age of 84. FOX, Lyal Peter Sr.: Condolences to the family of Lyal Fox Sr. who passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Due to Lyal's deep roots in the Lloydminster, SK community and his strong connection with the area of Ste Rose du Lac and Dauphin, MB, where he spent the last 21 years of his life, there will be two funeral services - March 4 in Dauphin and March 14 in Lloydminster. DELVER, Larry: Highly respected Red Angus breeder & former federal vet Larry Delver passed away Nov. 24/18 at the age of 80 years. He served as a valued member on many beef related boards and was presented with the Don Matthews Award of Excellence in Animal Health by the Canadian Beef Breeds Council in 2013. EDGE: Dr. D. Brian: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian at his home south of Cochrane on his beloved ranch. 'Doc' was a Veterinarian at the Calgary Stampede for 47 years and volunteered as a vet for the Calgary 4-H on Parade during those years. He was the vet for the Calgary Bull Sale for 45 years. GORDON, Robert (Bob) Henry: Condolences to the Gordon and McRae families on the passing of Bob at age 83 on July 29/16. Bob was the owner of Kinnaber Cattle Co., Souris, MB and a beef sire selector for Western Breeders/Alta Genetics for many years. Over his lifetime he raised Shorthorn, Herefords, Angus and Simmental and was a respected judge for all breeds in both Canada and the US. HART, Jack: It was an emotional day at the Cattleman's Connection Sale in Brandon with the passing of Jack Hart of Brookmore Angus of Brookdale, MB on Feb. 16, 2016. Jack fought the good fight for some time while still active with his passion - Angus cattle. Brookmore has been part of the Cattleman's Connection Sale since its inception 21 years ago, Females sold through the Seriously Black Female Sale at Altasta Angus, as well as many consignment sales, with the Brookmore prefix highly treasured across the country. COX, Ken: Heartfelt condolences to Verny Cox & Family (Lorraine & Rusty), Armena, AB on the passing of Angus enthusiast extraoridinaire Ken on April 16, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. "Kenny" was named Alberta Angus honourary President in 2013 and was inducted into the Alberta 4-H Hall of Fame in 1997. Ken was a respected cattle judge and a no nonsense ring steward, a life-long volunteer, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was also a familiar face at auction marts and commercial events representing Canadian Angus.

MUTCH, Frank: Long time Prince Edward Island Angus Breeder Frank Mutch passed away Nov. 12, 2012 at the age of 80. Frank was inducted into the Atlantic Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1991. COPELAND, Timothy Glenn: The family of Timothy Glenn Copeland, son of Glenn Copeland and the late Shirley, regret to report his passing of pancreatic cancer on Oct. 18/12 at 51 years of age.  In the 1980's, Tim was the owner of the Timco Angus herd and a member of the Ontario Junior Angus Association and the Canadian Angus Association.  Tim loved showing and participating in Angus activities.  His father Glenn was manager for Tweedhill Farm, Terra Cotta, ON. Sincere condolences to the Cooper family of Saskatchewan on the sudden loss of Wade and Cam Cooper in a tragic plane accident on June 30 after a fishing trip. Three others also died in the crash, Danny Mantyka, Max Clunie and the pilot Andre Gagnon. Wade Cooper was the manager of Heartland Livestock, Prince Albert and the pair were brothers to well-know rodeo clown Ash (Crash) Cooper. Double funeral service July 8 in Unity, SK.

BROWN, Andrew: Andrew Gibson Brown of Lethbridge passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the age of 98 years. Andy was an avid Angus promoter, respected cattle judge and operated Brown's Meat Market. He was inducted into the Lethbridge & District Exhibition Association Hall of Fame in 1990. Torey was a familiar face in Angus circles working with the Mountain View Farms show and sale crew over the past few years. His calm manner, sense of humour and expertise will be missed. GLASMAN, Larry: Larry Glasman, of the famed Black Eagle Farms, Russell, MB, passed away March 3, 2011. Black Eagle was operated by C.E. Glasman and Sons, Larry and Marshall (father of Miles) and was a strong Angus force in Mantoba during the 50's 60's & 70's, showing across Canada and in Denver. In 1969 they exhibited Boniagra Ankonian 306122 known as 'Northern Giant' at the Chicago International, standing second to 'Great Northern'.

SERA: Alex Sera, owner of Coalbridge Farms located at Coaldale, AB passed away Oct. 28, 2010 in Lethbridge. In the 1970's the Coalbridge prefix enjoyed great success across North America, especially with progeny of Marshall of Southolm 54W, a 1967 purchase at the Lethbridge Bull Sale from Southolm Angus. A son, Coalbridge Marshall 15th, topped the Cross-Country Sale in 1970 and was a sire of the year award winner on several occasions.
