Tammy Sewall
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our Tam. She was born July 9, 1968 at Pincher Creek, Alberta and died December 6, 2009 at Brooks, Alberta. She fought an unbelievably classy and courageous 8 year long battle with ovarian cancer.
Tammy did everything humanely possible to beat this horrible disease and it may look to some who didn’t know her like we do that the cancer won., but it didn’t conquer her beautiful spirit and soul or her unending love for all of us. Tam is survived by her wonderful husband Dan; her Mom & Dad, Bob & Nonee Bonertz; sisters, Wedi (Henry) McCarthy, Heather (Carig) Gallant and sister-in-law Kim (Wylie) Orser. She was also “second Mom” to her beloved neice and nephews, Davis, Anna, Beth & Emmett McCarthy; Lane and Jacey Bonertyz and Reid Gallant. She is also survived by her very special new family, the Sewalls; Chad, Sue & family; Scott and family & Mary Jane and Dwight. Tammy was predeceased by her brother Glen, her Nana and Papa Whipple, Grandpa Bonertz and she will also now meet her mother-in-law Bette Sewall.
Whatever Tammy did her whole life, she gave 200%. She will be remembered for her great pies and poppyseed buns, her love for Black Angus cattle, her work ethic, her enduring strength, but mostly for her unconditional love for Dan and her family and friends. This group of extraordinary friends were also her family - by choice.
We are all so blessed to have her in our lives. Tammy had a plaque in her house for many years who’s saying she lived by, especially these last years. It reads “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain”. we will love you and miss your presence and beautifull smile forever.
Special thanks to the caring and compassionate Doctors and nursing staff in the Brooks and Pincher Creek Hospitals also to Smith Funeral Home in Brooks and to Dennis and his staff at Eden’s Funeral Home for their help and guidance. Thanks also to Fr. Eric Nelson, Rosalee, the choir and C.W.L. all of St. Michaels Church.
